RV Parks
RV parks and campgrounds are easy to find and provide all the amenities any RVer could want. Full hookups include water, RV waste dump, electricity, cable TV, phone, and even WiFi are available at many locations.
Many RV parks have laundry facilities, electric only RV camping sites, dump stations, recreation rooms, and play areas for children and adults. Pets are restricted in some parks, as well as vehicle type and even age in some of the nicest RV resorts. Rates vary from as little as $5 a night to over $50. You should expect to average between $20 and $30 per night in a private RV park or campground. Discount RV camping clubs can help cut nightly expenses, and vehicle specific RV clubs can be great for family and group RV travel.
The Physics of Towed Vehicles Flat Towing A Vehicle Behind Your RV
Many motorhome owners flat tow a vehicle (all four wheels on the ground) on their RV camping trips. We here at www.rv-camping.org flat tow our modified Jeep Wrangers on our adventures, and have for over 120,000 miles. We appreciate the freedom and convenience of having a small vehicle instead of using our RV to explore new places.
Towing anything is a pretty big responsibility in our opinion. State laws vary, but trailers over a certain weight require trailer brakes… typically 1500 lbs. While trailers are usually required to have braking systems, many state towing laws are vague at best as to a requirement for towed vehicle brakes. Some states require a stopping ability within a specified distance from a stated speed, and many require a "break-away" brake for situations where the towed vehicle becomes unhitched, but as far as we know, there is no national standard for supplemental braking systems in the USA.
Logically speaking, if state laws require a trailer of 1500 pounds to have brakes, it seems to us that towing something that can easily weigh twice as much (our Jeep weighs over three times as much at nearly 5000 lbs.) should have a braking system too. However not everyone agrees with the above logic, and there are a large number of folks out there towing a vehicle without supplemental brakes.

Christmas in an RV
To make your RV feel more like the holidays, you can do exterior and interior of your RV. Lights are a great option, they are fairly simple to store and find wherever you might be. Lights are also a great way to make your RV feel like the holidays.
Tips for a Stress-Free Christmas
It's the most wonderful time of the year—but also one of the most
stressful! Make the season more enjoyable by stopping stress in its
tracks with these expert tips. With the gift-giving, the cooking, the
decorations and the parties, the holidays can seem to be more like work
than a vacation. We've asked the experts, and here's how to make the
most of your holiday season. Continue Reading.
Improve your eyesight tenfold
There is enough medical proof to suggest that your eyesight can in fact improve whilst your travel trips. The simple reason being that while travelling you stay away from the glare of your bright laptop screen for hours, may be days. The fresh outdoors can give an ample amount of rest to your tired eyes and in due time, your eyes will get accustomed to your work place and your outdoor life, provided you balance out both, in an orderly fashion.
Say goodbye to stress!
If you see yourself wearing pajamas to work, or carrying your girlfriend’s bag to work instead of yours, then you know it is high time you take a vacation. The area around your eyes begin to look like interstellar holes and your head starts to hear voices, and they are probably asking you to travel. Medical studies have proven that in a matter of two days, a person’s stress levels can drop by 89% while they are travelling!
Detox your lungs with fresh air!
You
have forgotten what clear skies looked like and what clean, purified
air smelled like. Your lungs choke with the excess amount of carbon
monoxide in the air and your face stings with the blistering heat of
city sunlight. The good news is, you do not have to spend lakhs in a spa
to rejuvenate yourself. All you need to is travel. Visit the great
majestic mountains up north or the pristine beaches of the south and
inhale deeply and feel your lungs fill up with fresh, unpolluted oxygen.
Even
in your early 20s, you find yourself getting extremely tired at the
drop of a hat. We all dread that one flight of stairs that we climb
everyday to reach our work station, probably the hardest task of the
day. Damn! But once you explore the great outdoors, you will begin to
let go of the instantly ageing curse that you have, you will gain the
energy of a teenager again, bouncing and running without losing breath
or feeling your muscles burn.
Let your heart beat loud and happy!
We take matters of the heart very seriously, but what about the poor, beating little organ that has gotten tired of your busy lifestyle? As per US travel associations research, an annual vacation can cut a person’s risk of a heart attack by 50 percent. Middle-aged men at high risk for coronary heart disease who take frequent annual vacations are 21% less likely to die of any cause and 32% less likely to die of their coronary heart disease. Sounds grim, doesn’t it? But if the solution can be this simple, then why not just do what your heart says?
Echo Bluff offers campers resort-style amenities
Bill
Bryan traversed the loose soil and rocks that lead to Sinking Creek
last Friday afternoon as Echo Bluff, named for the way voices echo off
its sheer face, cast a shadow over the water.
“Some people like to kayak Sinking Creek, but I prefer to put on a snorkel and just float it,” Bryan, sporting a blue-and-white checkered, short-sleeved shirt and khakis, said. “The current will take you quite a way without any effort. The water is warm most of the year as well.
Bryan, who is director of Missouri State Parks, was visitingEcho Bluff,
the newest addition to the state park system, for a staff meeting. He
brought his family along to enjoy the park while he ran to and from
meetings. Behind him was the centerpiece of Echo Bluff State Park: Betty Lea Lodge, a tremendous wood-and-stone structure that features 16 guest rooms and four suites.
“We want some parks to be more accessible to more people, providing campers a variety of experiences,” Bryan said.
He referenced a study by the Coleman Co. and the Outdoor Foundation.
“If
you haven’t been introduced to camping in some form before the age of
15, your chances of ever going camping are reduced drastically,” Bryan
said. “Parks with amenities like these allow more people to be exposed
to outdoor activities, which is one of our goals.”
