RV parks and campgrounds are easy to find and provide all the amenities any RVer could want. Full hookups include water, RV waste dump, electricity, cable TV, phone, and even WiFi are available at many locations.
Many RV parks have laundry facilities, electric only RV camping sites, dump stations, recreation rooms, and play areas for children and adults. Pets are restricted in some parks, as well as vehicle type and even age in some of the nicest RV resorts. Rates vary from as little as $5 a night to over $50. You should expect to average between $20 and $30 per night in a private RV park or campground. Discount RV camping clubs can help cut nightly expenses, and vehicle specific RV clubs can be great for family and group RV travel.

Harvest Hosts offers the first program of its kind in North America to offer free overnight RV camping at wineries and farms. Farmers and vintners invite self-contained RVers (all motorhomes, fifth-wheels and trailers) to visit their vineyards, farms and orchards and to stay overnight free of charge. We feel Good Sam offers its members a great value with discount RV camping and member services.
The best known RV park association is KOA, and with campgrounds in every state, you should have no trouble finding a convenient campground. RVs put a new take on ‘roughing it’
On the day the Steelers lost the American Football Conference championship in 1995, the annual Pittsburgh RV Show was touting the industry’s latest and greatest: mobile homes equipped with full kitchens and bathrooms.
But, on Sunday, attendees of the show at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center could actually watch the Steelers’ playoff win against the Miami Dolphins inside any one of the luxurious vehicles, surrounded by LED lights, aluminum framing and the newest push-button technology.

Nevada City's Destination Camping/Glamping Spot
Just two miles from downtown Nevada City, but worlds away from the bustle of daily life, is the new Inn Town Campground,
a 15-acre wooded site where you can put up a tent, hook up your RV, or
arrive with just your backpack and settle into a fully furnished
glamping tent.
There
is a total of 70 campsites, the majority allotted to tent camping. But
the glamping tents, at only $90-$100 per night, are both special and
affordable. Comfy beds with warm linens, bedside tables, and electrical
outlets allow you to sleep under the stars without giving up a single
creature comfort. Extra cots are available for kids for a small fee.
Just outside your door (whether camping or glamping) are a gas firepit
(upon request) and picnic table.
The
Commons, aka camp headquarters, has wi-fi, a grocery store, a full
kitchen with all the appliances you need to cook a meal, dining space, a
laundry room, a TV, reading nooks, and a barbecue area. There’s also a

Take a hike – Exploring the big beautiful outdoors with your children can be an adventure and an education.
• Prepare a hiking kit for each kid including a magnifying glass, note book and fun writing utensils, a bug, flora and/or fauna identifier or anything else that may help pique their interest.
• Wrap wide masking tape, sticky side out, around everyone’s wrist as a bracelet for collecting flowers, leaves, etc. along the trail.
• Devise a scavenger hunt. Provide each kid a list of several items that are likely to be found on a nature hike, for example, a small brown rock, a leaf at least one inch long, a pine cone, a yellow flower, etc., a pencil, and a large ziploc bag. At the end of the hike check off the items found and give a small treat or prize to all participants.
Bring home a new “pet” – a pet rock that is. This is an easy craft that will continue to deliver memories long after the trip is complete. From home you’ll need a supply of colorful permanent markers, small wiggly eyes, and glue (or small glue dots no larger than the eyes). Find a medium-sized, smooth rock, clean it up and based on its shape, imagine what type of animal it is (think lady bug, frog, beaver, etc.). Using the markers, color/decorate the rock and then glue eyes on “him” or “her”.
